Looking for a course to take this fall? Interested in social media and popular culture? In FILM240 we focus on understanding how digital technology trends impact the ways we produce, distribute, and consume media such as: television, movies and music, games and websites, books and magazines, journalism and advertising.
Course Delivery & Design:
This 10-lesson blended course is delivered simultaneously on-campus and online. Beyond the once-weekly lectures or podcasts there are two multiple choice exams, both open book and administered online (40%). All students also participate in online discussions (20%).
Flex your digital creativity with two visual communication assignments involving basic information design, web research, analysis and writing skills (40%).
This course has no prerequisites, and experience in graphic design is not required. Click here to view sample student assignments.
Flexible Scheduling Options:
Part time and full time, existing and new students can register for the online or on-campus section. Then depending on your schedule and learning preferences, choose to attend bi-weekly live lectures on campus Wednesday evenings, and/or opt to watch the lecture videos instead, posted on Friday afternoons and available on-demand until December.
